Lauren Nguyen Joins as Controller and VP of Finance; Kristen Rosenberger Promoted to VP of Financial Planning and Analysis

The National Aquarium is pleased to announce the appointment of two new leaders within its finance team with the hire of Lauren Nguyen as controller and vice president of finance and the internal promotion of Kristen Rosenberger as vice president of financial planning and analysis.

"We are excited to have Lauren and Kristen lead our finance team," shared Chief Operating and Financial Officer Ginna Newton. "Their strategic insight and passion will be instrumental in advancing our mission and ensuring the financial health of the National Aquarium moving forward."

As Controller and Vice President of Finance, Nguyen oversees the organization's finance and accounting functions, including accounts payable, grant reporting, audit and tax filings, and financial reporting, ensuring the Aquarium's financial excellence and integrity. She also plays a crucial role in developing the Aquarium's economic strategy and sustainability planning.

Nguyen is a licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with previous experience at EY (formerly Ernst & Young) and 50CAN, an education advocacy nonprofit. She holds a degree in accounting with a minor in environmental science from the University of Virginia's McIntire School of Commerce.

Before being promoted to her current role as vice president of financial planning and analysis, Rosenberger joined the National Aquarium in 2021 as the director of financial planning and analysis and served as the interim vice president of finance. With her background in corporate and nonprofit finance, Rosenberger now leads the organization's annual budgeting and forecasting processes and develops balanced strategic multiyear projections. Before joining the Aquarium, she was a financial and project manager at Catholic Relief Services.

Rosenberger holds a Bachelor of Science in finance with dual minors in economics and Italian from Auburn University.
