From February 18 through early April, the fourth level of the main Aquarium building will be closed for renovation, changing access to amenities and guest routes. Staff will be available to assist with alternative routes and accessibility accommodations.
Making Improvements for You and the Animals
Due to necessary renovations on Level 4 of Blue Wonders, construction is underway, and some areas are closed. For those planning a visit during this time, here are a few tips to help prepare:
Modifications to the Guest Path
Level 4 within Blue Wonders is undergoing construction that impacts the guest path. Habitats (North Atlantic to Pacific and Amazon River Forest) will be closed to viewing by the public.
Bypass routes through stairwells will be in place for guests to continue to the Upland Tropical Rain Forest habitat and the Atlantic Coral Reef ramps. Depending on the project's phase, guests may need to climb between one and three flights of stairs to access the Upland Tropical Rain Forest. When you arrive, please note directions and updates from staff and look for wayfinding signage during your visit.
Accessibility Routes
For guests with accessibility needs, our accessibility guide (available upon entry and at the Level 1 Information Desk, opposite the 4D Immersion Theater) will provide instructions for using alternative routes to navigate the building. Guests needing elevators should also check with staff and volunteers at the Level 1 Information Desk for route updates the day they visit. Depending on the phase of the project, guests using the elevator route may need to wear protective gear for a short time through a construction zone.
Elevator Access
Access to elevators will be extremely limited, so throughout this construction project, priority will be given to those with accessibility needs.
Restroom Access
Construction will fully restrict access to the Level 4 restrooms during this time. We encourage all guests to use restrooms on the ground floor or Level 1.
Food & Beverage Options
The Level 4 Harbor View Room will be closed throughout this project. Guests looking to purchase refreshments or food should head to the Pier 3 Cafe or Pier 4 Canteen.
