Here at the National Aquarium, we learned many lessons while our building was closed to the public due to the COVID-19 pandemic, including the importance of staying nimble and adapting as needed. In our first-ever digital version of Watermarks, you'll learn how staff did just that while caring for all the many residents at the Aquarium.

Important work inside the Aquarium couldn't be paused during our building shutdown, and neither could critical conservation work outside our four walls—in this issue, you'll also learn about our Conservation team's work to continue planting projects during a global pandemic.

And, of course, you'll learn about animals—from those that thrive in a local seasonal vernal pool, to the newest reptilian additions at the Aquarium.
