These extraordinarily intelligent underwater giants each exhibit unique behaviors to navigate their ever-changing environment. Essential to the fragile balance of our ocean's health, Shark: A 4D Experience® explores the complex nature of these magnificent creatures' survival instincts. Stunning 3D and special effects place you right in the middle of the action as sharks reveal their hidden traits while roaming an eerily beautiful underwater landscape.
Members can purchase their 4D tickets online in the member portal, at the will call window or at the information desk in Pier 3. Please be sure to arrive before your showtime.

The Aquarium's 4D Immersion Theater combines the high-definition drama of a 3D film with special sensory effects that are built into the theater seats and environment. Films are transformed into 15-minute experiences that bring on-screen images to life with special effects such as mist, wind, snow, bubbles, scents, enhanced lighting, leg ticklers and seat vibrations! Children under 7 must be accompanied by someone over the age of 14 in the theater.
The 4D immersion films are cinematic experiences with special effects. They are not recommended for those with medical sensitivity to loud noises and strobe lights, or for those with back issues. Guests may remain in wheelchairs while in the theater and service animals are permitted. Audio descriptions, assistive listening, and closed captioning are available. Our accessibility page has more details about these and other services available at the National Aquarium.
