Overview

National Aquarium educators visit your school to bring aquatic science to life for students in multiple classes at multiple grade levels. You may select from ocean or Chesapeake Bay themes.

Each theme day includes:

  • Two auditorium presentations for multiple classes
  • Ten interactive discovery lab sessions on your selected theme that allow students to explore in-depth and investigate animals introduced in the auditorium presentations. Each 20-minute session is identical and limited to one class of up to 30 students to encourage optimal learning. School or parent volunteers are required to assist with interactive discovery sessions.

Theme day programs are available only on Thursdays and Fridays. Additional discovery labs are available upon request for an additional fee.

This program is designed as an outreach program for your school or location.

Outreach Programs in Your School or Location

The National Aquarium will begin accepting requests for education outreach programs for the 2024-25 school year in July 2024. These outreach programs are available November through April. Multiple programs on the same day in the same location may be available for an additional fee.

*Depending on your location, travel fees of $25 to $100 may be applicable.

Cancellation Policy

You must cancel your reservation at least 21 days prior to your scheduled program to receive a full refund. If you cancel your reservation less than 21 days in advance or fail to participate in your scheduled program, you forfeit all program fees.
