Oysters are a keystone species of the Chesapeake Bay and an important indicator of its health. Learn about some of the issues facing oysters in their natural habitat. Students will then mix their own water samples to match oyster habitats of the Chesapeake Bay and determine the best locations for healthy oysters to grow.
This program is available at the Aquarium as a field trip add-on or in your school or location as an outreach program.

*Price at the main Aquarium campus: $8 per student
*Price at your school or location: $250 for first program; $125 for each additional program booked for the same day
The National Aquarium will begin accepting requests for education outreach programs for the 2024-25 school year in July 2024. These outreach programs are available November through April. Multiple programs on the same day in the same location may be available for an additional fee.
*Depending on your location, travel fees of $25 to $100 may be applicable.
Cancellation Policy
You must cancel your reservation at least 21 days prior to your scheduled program to receive a full refund. If you cancel your reservation less than 21 days in advance or fail to participate in your scheduled program, you forfeit all program fees.
