National Aquarium Announces Special Event Programming for Fall and Winter 2026
Morning yoga and the return of adults-only, after-hours events usher in an exciting autumn
The National Aquarium has announced its calendar of special events for the remainder of 2026, including Aquarium After Dark—the much-anticipated adults-only, after-hours event series—and Morning Yoga: Underwater Flow, a monthly yoga session that takes place before the Aquarium opens its doors for the day.
Aquarium After Dark invites adult guests ages 21+ to enjoy a laid-back evening exploring the Aquarium's award-winning exhibits after regular operating hours. Attendees can enjoy cocktails and mocktails—the first of which is included in the price of admission—plus snacks while strolling through each gallery. The event series is perfect for couples, friends, and nature enthusiasts who want to discover the Aquarium's twilight side—all chill, no children. ID is required for entry.
Morning Yoga: Underwater Flow is a series of exclusive, early morning yoga sessions led by Marissa Walch, a certified fitness, yoga, and wellness professional based in the DMV area. Taking place directly in front of the Dolphin Discovery underwater viewing area, the morning yoga sessions are a relaxing opportunity to begin the day in a mindful way surrounded by marine life. Guests of all yoga levels ages 12 and up are welcome to participate, and attendees are encouraged to stay and enjoy the Aquarium after the session ends.

Upcoming event dates for 2026 include:
- Aquarium After Dark — September 17, October 28, November 19, and December 17.
- Morning Yoga: Underwater Flow — September 20, October 10, November 22, and December 6.
