Joann Romeo to oversee finance, accounting and auditing activities
The National Aquarium is excited to announce the appointment of Joann Romeo as their new vice president of finance and controller. Romeo is a certified public accountant who brings an extensive background in accounting, finance and operation, making her a valuable addition to the leadership of the organization.
Romeo oversees finance, accounting, and auditing activities for the National Aquarium. She will play a key role as advisor to the chief operating and financial officer.

Romeo comes to the National Aquarium from Ecosystem Investment Partners, LLC (EIP), where she served as the director of financial reporting. During her tenure at EIP, she managed all financial reporting and policy, process and control implementation. Additionally, she co-managed compliance, IT, human resources and treasury.
Prior to EIP, Romeo was an accounting manager for Greenspring Associates following her role as an accounting manager for Videology, Inc., for their North American region. She began her career in the Assurance and Advisory Business Services Practice at Ernst & Young, LLP.
Romeo holds a bachelor's degree of business administration in accounting from James Madison University, having graduated magna cum laude, and a master's degree of science in accounting and business advisory services from Towson University.
