The National Aquarium is pleased to announce the promotion of Emma Wesoloski to Vice President of Marketing and Engagement Strategy. Emma has served the Aquarium in various capacities since 2011, most recently as director of marketing programs.
In her expanded role, Emma will lead and advise Aquarium efforts to engage the community; provide leadership to partnership strategy across the organization; direct an intersectional audience development strategy; and steer enterprise opportunities through the lens of public access and community engagement. Additionally, Emma will develop strategic marketing plans to support the Aquarium's attendance and revenue goals, as well as membership, development and conservation mission programs, and the audiences served by them.
"The time is right for the Aquarium to determine how we can make an even greater impact on our community at home and beyond," said Chief Marketing Officer Margot Amelia. "Emma is the perfect team member to expand this work and integrate it into the Aquarium's daily culture, strategy and practices."
In her time at the Aquarium, Emma led the development of The Water is Calling, the Aquarium's integrated, award-winning paid media campaign that has won multiple awards since its launch in summer of 2018. It was honored by the American Marketing Association's Baltimore chapter with two awards, including the Grand MX distinction (best in show). The Water is Calling also received recognition for Best Media and Public Relations Campaign at the 2018 Maryland Tourism and Travel Summit.
Before joining the National Aquarium in 2011, Emma worked at the Maryland Science Center and Port Discovery.
