Sam Tawiah

Vice President of Information Technology

As vice president of information technology at the National Aquarium, Sam Tawiah provides high-level technical guidance and advice to the organization's leaders and strategic planning for all aspects of the National Aquarium's technology infrastructure spanning business applications, physical hardware, internal and customer-facing networks, and audio/visual technology.

Sam is a passionate technology strategist with PMP certification and more than 25 years of experience in a variety of industries including nonprofits, banking and finance, and federal, state and local government. Before joining the National Aquarium in 2014, Sam served as the director of IT for AVCARD, an aviation credit card processing company where he managed software development and IT operations to support a global aviation credit card point of sale application network.

Sam is a graduate of the University of Buckingham in the United Kingdom where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in computer science with applicable mathematics.
