From February 18 through early April, the fourth level of the main Aquarium building will be closed for renovation, changing access to amenities and guest routes. Staff will be available to assist with alternative routes and accessibility accommodations.
NAF Board Chair
Merrie Mowen chairs the National Aquarium Foundation Board and serves as an ex officio member of the National Aquarium Board. She is a managing director and portfolio manager at 1919 Investment Counsel and the director of the firm's Baltimore office. She has more than 30 years of experience in financial services, working with individuals, families, foundations, endowments and institutional clients with complex financial needs. Merrie is a member of the firm's Executive Committee responsible for developing and leading the firm's strategic vision. In addition, she chairs the Global Equity Committee and serves on the firm's Marketing Steering Committee. Merrie holds bachelor's degrees from Springfield College and Villa Julie College (now Stevenson University) and a Master of Business Administration from the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. She is a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute and the Baltimore Security Analysts Society. She serves as the chair of the National Aquarium Foundation (NAF) and is a member of the Board of Trustees for Stevenson University.
