Homeschool Field Trips

Thank you for choosing the National Aquarium for your next homeschool field trip! A visit to the Aquarium is your students' passport to discovering the world's aquatic treasures. Our programs are specifically designed for homeschoolers and we are happy to provide information to assist with planning your field trip. Field Trips can booked for groups of 15 or more.

Homeschool programs for 2016-17 are offered September 13, 2016 through February 27, 2017. Reservations for 2016-17 open June 15, 2016 at 9 am.

Homeschool Days

September 13, 14, 15 2016

Sharks! Join the National Aquarium for the 2016 Homeschool Days program. Homeschool families will start their day with an auditorium program focusing on the biology and diversity of sharks and their importance in the ocean. After the program, families will get the chance to go on a self-guided tour of the Aquarium, with a Learning Passport in hand. Families will get the opportunity to visit hands-on discovery stations throughout the building focusing on sharks and their relatives.

We will be offering this program on three days:
Tuesday, September 13, 2016; 9 am to 12 pm
Wednesday, September 14, 2016; 9 am to 12 pm
Thursday, September 15, 2016; 9 am to 12 pm

Chaperone Fees 
Each reservation includes one free adult chaperone admission for each group of up to five students. Additional chaperones are welcome at $27.95 per person (Aquarium admission only).

Chaperone and program fees include Aquarium admission only. Tickets for the 4-D Immersion Theater can be purchased at the information desk near the 4-D Immersion Theater on the day of your visit.

Monthly Homeschool Programs

Two Mondays per month, October 2016 through February 2017:

  • Grades 6-12 meet from 10:30–11:30 a.m. 
  • Grades K–2 meet from 12:30–1:30 p.m. 
  • Grades 3-5 meet from 2:00–3:00 p.m.

Upon receipt of your reservation acknowledgement, verify all information and return the signed agreement. You must confirm your reservation at least 21 days prior to your visit to prevent cancellation.

Cancellation and Refund Policy

You must cancel your reservation more than 21 days in advance of your scheduled visit to receive a full refund of payments. If you cancel your reservation less than 21 days in advance, or fail to arrive at your scheduled entry time, you forfeit the deposit and all program fees.

4-D Immersion Films

The Aquarium's 4D Immersion Theater will bring you closer to the sights, sounds, and smells of the action.
