Baltimore Welcomes the Okeanos Explorer!
Published September 11, 2014
Yesterday, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s research vessel, the Okeanos Explorer, docked on the Aquarium's Pier 4.
The ship is one of more than 30 vessels visiting Baltimore’s Inner Harbor for the city’s Star-Spangled Spectacular, a free week-long festival celebrating the bicentennial of the Star-Spangled Banner!
On Tuesday, we hosted a live Google+ Hangout with researchers aboard the Okeanos and Nautilus to talk about some of their most exciting deep sea discoveries! Missed the Hangout? Not to worry—you can watch the full video below.
If you’re in the area, come down and tour the Okeanos Explorer! You can also follow their work online.
