Leonid Tishkov's "Private Moon" Comes to the Aquarium

In what must be an Aquarium first, contemporary Russian artist Leonid Tishkov arrived at our Baltimore facility earlier today with a 6' translucent white crescent moon.
Since 2007, Tishkov has been traveling the world - from Paris to the Arctic - photographing the moon (and sometimes himself) as part of an ongoing project called "Private Moon."
This project is "a visual poem telling the story of a man who met the Moon and stayed with her for the rest of his life," according to Tishkov.
Photographs taken today at the Aquarium will be presented as part of his new exhibition, "Private Moon: America."
