Policies & Procedures
Participants will be required to sign a waiver agreement. Please note: Immersion Tour participants do not actually get into the water.
Your experience will last approximately 2 hours. Following the tour, you are welcome to explore the Aquarium at your leisure.
Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. There will be no exceptions to this policy.
If the Aquarium cancels the program, you will have the option of rescheduling for another date or receiving a full refund. During inclement weather, please call the program line at 410-576-8822 the day of your program for cancellation information.
The safety of both our guests and our dolphins is our first priority. What you wear and bring into the dolphin area matters. Please read the following information to ensure you get the most out of your experience.
For the safety of our dolphins, all jewelry must be removed prior to going on deck with the dolphins. The Aquarium will lock up any jewelry but is not responsible for loss or damage. There is a good chance that your clothes will come into contact with salt water; we recommend bringing a change of clothes. Please wear non-slip, closed-toe shoes (no flip-flops, Crocs, or high heels).
In order for you to get close enough to touch the dolphins, you must be physically able to kneel and/or lie on your stomach for up to 15 minutes at a time without assistance. Due to the structure of the dolphin pools and platform, portions of the program are not accessible to pregnant women or guests with special needs. Please call 410-576-3833 with any accessibility questions.
Encounter participants do not get into the water, but it is important that you have basic swimming ability, as you will be interacting with the dolphins next to a deep-water pool.
Our dolphins are trained for this program, but their behavior can still be unpredictable. For your safety, please be attentive and follow the instruction of the trainers at all times.
To maintain the small and intimate nature of the Dolphin Encounter program, each Encounter participant may purchase one Observer ticket.
During the dolphin interaction portion of the program, you will be seated in a designated area where you can safely enjoy watching and taking your own photos or videos (no tripods, please). The Aquarium will lock up any cameras but is not responsible for loss or damage.
To ensure you receive the best experience, please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled program time. As a courtesy to other guests on your tour, your guide is unable to wait for late arrivals. Your tour will meet at the Aquarium staff entrance to Blue Wonders: Reefs to Rainforests.
Following your Immersion Tour, your admission is good for a full day of Aquarium exploration! If you’d like to leave the building and re-enter later that day, get your hand stamped at the main exit of Blue Wonders. Check with a staff member for the last entry time of the day.
The health of the animals is our primary concern; therefore, any tour may be canceled or modified without notice if it is in the animals' best interest.
If the Aquarium cancels your program, you will have the option of rescheduling for another date or receiving a full refund. To ensure that your tour has not been canceled due to inclement weather or unforeseen events, please call 410-576-8822 two hours prior to the program time on the day of your visit. If you miss your tour due to late arrival, no refund can be provided.
