What is the Aquarium's economic impact on the region?

The Aquarium is Maryland's largest paid tourist attraction, and its impact on the State of Maryland is tremendous.

A 1990 study by the Maryland Department of Economic and Employment Development determined that spending by Aquarium visitors in 1990 generated $128.3 million in income to the region.

The Aquarium's success has contributed to the development of over 3,000 new hotel rooms in Baltimore.
