The Aquarium is keeping its doors open late so that our valued members can enjoy a leisurely visit without the crowds. Special events will include guest appearances by aquatic animals, raffles for prizes, and visits with staff members who can give you the inside scoop on the animals' daily lives. For your comfort and convenience, space is limited; therefore, no one will be allowed entry unless tickets have been reserved with our reservationists! Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Members are free, but reservations are required. Code: MAE-MJoin Aquarium staff and Captain Mark Sampson for a day of shark tagging off the coast of Ocean City, Maryland. Tagging sharks provides scientists with information on shark identity, migration and abundance, age and growth, mortality, and behavior. Captain Sampson's experience and reputation have made him a sought-after lecturer, demonstrator, writer, and guide for shark tagging and other offshore fishing techniques. This is an exclusive hands-on event -- don't miss out on an exciting day on the water. Lunch is included. Directions are mailed with tickets. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult. The National Aquarium has teamed up with the Association of Zoos and Aquariums in support of a global effort to bring attention to amphibian conservation and their endangerment. With more than 6,000 frogs, toads, newts, salamanders, and caecilians worldwide, there's a lot to learn, but we can all do something to help.
Remember, what's good for frogs is good for the bay and good for us.
