Animal Update: Sea Turtle Release

We successfully released eight of our sea turtle patients in St. Augustine, Florida last week!

Published March 08, 2017

The eight sea turtles traveled from the National Aquarium to join 24 other turtles from our partners at the Pittsburgh Zoo, Sea Turtle Recovery, the National Marine Life Center and the Virginia Aquarium. Together we released 30 Kemp’s ridley turtles and two green sea turtles.sea-turtle-release-staff

These turtles are the most recent group to be released from our initial intake of 21 cold-stunned patients. Seven turtles remain in our rehabilitation facility and our Animal Rescue and Animal Health teams continue to monitor their progress.

Stay tuned for more updates about these turtles!
