Can 3D Mapping Help Save the Ocean?

Oceanographers are using 3D technology to develop complex environmental maps of the ocean.

An international collective of researchers are developing data-rich seafloor maps that include temperature, salinity, oxygen and nutrient levels.coastline-waves-beach

They hope these maps will help conservationists and government officials work together to understand which ocean areas are in urgent need of preservation. By adding layers of data to ocean maps, scientists can better track the rapid changes happening to ocean environments as a result of climate change.
