Animal Rescue Update: New Turtle Rehab Area!

With cold-stun sea turtle season officially underway, our Animal Rescue team has been busy preparing our new turtle rehab area for the potential arrival of patients!

Published November 15, 2016

The facility temporarily closed after our last release in June to allow staff time to complete several maintenance projects, including a deep scrub of the entire facility and expanding the area for rehab patients.

We’re excited to announce that our sea turtle rehab facility recently re-opened, and we’re ready for the cold-stun sea turtle season. Our Animal Health and Life Support teams have been meeting with Rescue staff to ensure protocols and procedures are updated and that logistics are taken care of.

To date, our stranding partners along the East Coast have already responded to more than five strandings. We anticipate our first sea turtle patient will arrive soon.

Stay tuned for more updates!
