Everyday is a fun day for the Aquarium's animals. Our giant pacific octopus plays with a Mr. Potato Head. Our parrots love large building blocks. And boat buoys amuse our dolphins to no end!
Aquarium staff ensure that all the animals have diverse and stimulating environments to explore. By providing simple objects, like peanut butter jars and film canisters, the animals can practice a wide range of natural behaviors, such as evading predators, foraging for food, and investigating new items that look, smell, or feel different. Unfortunately, these toys, or "enrichment" items, are so well used that many of them need to be replaced.
You can help the Aquarium by donating any new enrichment items.
What Items Are Needed?
The Aquarium is currently in need of the following new items:
- Basketballs
- Boat buoys
- Large squirt guns ( like super soakers)
- Parrot toys
- Plastic trashcans with lids
- Small plastic wading pool
- Sprinklers
- Sisal rope
