Artscape 2018

Artscape Jellyfish Installation

Join the National Aquarium at Baltimore's 37th annual Artscape, the country's largest free arts festival, from July 20 through 22! Pledge to become part of the Sea Change necessary to protect and preserve our planet's greatest resource: our ocean!

The ocean is within us and all around us.
It is the air we breathe; the food we eat; the water we drink.
It supports all life.

We have always needed the ocean, and now the ocean needs us. We can do better. A tidal shift is upon us.

It is time for a Sea Change.

Festival-goers will have the opportunity to make or reinforce their commitment to a brighter, greener tomorrow by joining the National Aquarium in creating a Sea Change, and to assist visual artist and MICA graduate Kasey Jones in building a giant octopus made entirely from repurposed plastic materials. We are proud to partner with Kasey in the creation of original, community artwork for the fifth consecutive year.

All guests will be able to add their conservation efforts and intentions to our pledge wall and take away colorful, declarative buttons. For the first time this year, guests will also be able to coast into the future through a virtual reality experience offering a glimpse of a cleaner, healthier, more enlivened Inner Harbor.

You can find the National Aquarium at the heart of Artscape, at the intersection of Mt. Royal Avenue and Dolphin Street near the Light Rail. Visit artscape.org to plan your visit.
